The Red Bank was founded by Terry and Margaret McCoy in 1983 and has been a success from the start. They have won many awards and citations for good food including the Egon Ronay Seafood restaurant of the Year. Terry is a member of Eurotoques, the European body of chefs dedicated to the highest standards of excellence in food and professional cooking. He has represented Ireland extensively at International food competitions.
When the local bank moved to new premises the McCoys bought the old building and created a superb restaurant with is both intimate and relaxed. The old bank vault was converted to a well stocked wine cellar and they have gone on to forge a reputation as one of the best establishments for contemporary Irish cuisine. Tired and happy after a full day and a wonderful dinner, it is then time only a few steps to accomodation in the cosy and comfortable Redbank House, a new venture for the McCoys, one to which the have applied there own inimitable sense of style confort and style.
