Local Activities
Beach--Skerries
has a long sandy beach very suitable for children and beach games. It
is a very safe beach for swimming and there are Beach/Lifeguards during
the summer months June - September.
Bicycling / Jogging Trails--Walking
the Seaside walk We have maps of walks for 1-2-3-4-5 hours and along the
rocky coast past the pirates cave to the next village Loughshinny. Suitable
footwear for this walk is necessary. Cycling We have bikes for hire and
maps to follow to the local villages and not on the main roads for 1-2-3-4
hours as you wish with some traditional Irish Thatched Pubs that serve
food/snacks. Also we can recommend other Inns in towns that are some 50
miles away. Your luggage can be transferred in advance of your arrival.
Boating
Traditional Sailing
The Galway Hooker is the traditional sailing boat of Galway Bay in the
West of Ireland and is renowned among sailboat enthusiasts for its beauty
and resilience. 'An Lady Mor' built in 1885 is owned & skippered by
Ben Mc Donagh an native Aran Islander. Ben wishes to share the Lady Mor
and she is available for hire through the Red Bank for a day or longer,
say a Half day sail around Lambay Island. She is fitted out to sleep 8
so a full week is also possible. Sea fishing is also available with boats
and gear for hire.. Sailing School We are associated with a sailing school
based at Skerries Sailing Club. Beginners are especially welcomed. It
is an inexpensive way to learn the basics while on a break staying at
the Red Bank Enquiries are welcome. The Guest house has its own Mermaid
Sailing boat suitable for 4-6 persons. Experience is essential to handle
this craft. Experienced help can be hired.
Fishing--Local boats can
be hired with all the fishing gear for a days seafishing subject to suitable
weather conditions. The Islands and the Rockabill Lighthouse are host
to many Seafishing Competitions during the season. Fish caught include
cod,pollock,skate,mackeral,haddock,whiting and many types of the shark
family of fish.
Golf
The
Red Bank Restaurant in Skerries is one of Irelands foremost restaurants,
now has 18 en-suite bedrooms. The Fingal area is particularly rich in
golf courses. We are featuring some here in sample packages of one nights
dinner, bed & breakfast & a round of golf. Tee times subject
to booking and availability.
Reservations can be made on-line
There are 25 golf courses within a 1/2 hours
drive of here. Three of the outstanding Links Courses of the Top 100 courses
in the World are just a short drive & sand wedge from the Redbank.

Other Activities
Fitness Center / Gym--At
the local Community Centre just 5 mins. from the Redbank is a fully equipped.
Gym with trained instructors. Appointments and reservations made. The
centre has tennis courts & badminton courts available for hire. Outdoor
Bowling Green is also available subject to booking.

Horseback Riding -- Horseback
Riding is available in the next town called Swords where an excellent
facility exists. We are happy to make arrangements for our guests who
are very specially looked after as valued guests. Some of our clients
now have adopted the horses as pets ! and return very often.
Museums / Galleries -- There
is a good train and bus service to the capital Dublin only 18 miles away.
The Historic Boyne Valley with its excellent Interpretive Centre is a
short distance & the Mourn Mountains and Carlingford an interesting
drive away. The Village Art Gallery is just around the corner with a fine
display of local artist's work. Ardigallen Castle also has exhibitions.
Nature Preserves / Trails
-- Ardigallen Castle & Park 3 country hour walk Home to the Taylors
of Malahide Castle now owned the local council and a wonderful public
park overlooking Skerries Bay and the mountains of Mourne. Walking the

Visit Dublin the Capital
City of Ireland: Dublin is Ireland's capital city, steeped in history
and youthful energy. Medieval, Georgian and modern architecture provide
a backdrop to a friendly bustling port, where the cosmopolitan and charming
converge in the delightful diversity that is Dublin.
Fine museums and art galleries
chronicle its long and colourful past, while the pubs and cafes buzz with
traditional entertainment. Dublin's attractions are ranging from: castles,
museums and art galleries to the lively spirit of Temple Bar.
There
is a good train and bus service to the capital Dublin only 18 miles away.

Racquetball / Squash --
2 Squash Courts are available for hire at Joe Mays Pub in the harbour
just 5 minutes away. We are happy to make reservations for guests.
Swimming Pool - Outdoor
-- Our natural outdoor swimming pool is literally that. It is called the
'Captains' and is an inlet of the sea and has deep water for diving in
and is where we locals go for a plunge. Its very bracing but you will
feel the better for it and nothing better before dinner!
Tennis -- 4 hard tennis
courts are available at the Community Centre and we are happy to book
time for you.
Theatre -- The Little Theatre
here in Skerries has a programme of productions. The Theatre in the next
village Rush also has a programme. Dublin has many including the National
Theatre the Abbey,The Gate and so many more. email us and we will be pleased
to let you know what will be on when your in town
Water

Wed. evening Saturday Afternoon & Sunday Morning. Why not challenge

Swimming Races take place
on Sunday mornings in the sea. Visitors welcome.
Wine Tasting -- We
have over 120 wines from around the world in our wine cellar the old bank
vault and there is always samples on trial. We would love you to give
us a hand and some advice. So before dinner just let us know and we would
be delighted. We of course will have to spit out but you?
